Balloon 3

Thank-you, Lord, for Levi

I remember a time when I was quite sure I was not interested in having children.  I am so thankful that you changed my heart.  Levi is an amazing little boy.

The journey getting him here was difficult, mostly for his mother.  Several trips to the hospital, several weeks of bed rest, and a slightly premature birth.  Even thought he was 4-1/2 weeks early, we were blessed with a healthy baby boy.

He is definitely his mothers son.  This was reaffirmed today at the fair when, every time we passed a food stand with candy or ice cream or cotton candy, he wanted some, and was very adamant about it.

I can't believe the brain you put in that boy's head.  I learn something new every day.  Not just a lesson in fatherhood based on an experience, but an actual fact.  Chemistry, algebra, the solar system, the human body.  He reads like most people breathe.  When most kids go to sports camps, Levi spent two weeks at an algebra camp, and he loved it.  I pray I can provide what he needs to nourish his desire to learn.

As the first born, he is kind of like an experiment in parenthood.  Sometimes I think my expectations are too high.  With that brain, I tend to forget he is only seven.  Please give me the wisdom and patience to be a good daddy to him.  Don't let me screw him up.

Thank-you, Lord, for Levi
